Little Miss picked out the fabric for her new shorts. First time she's agreed to wear shorts, so this is a huge accomplishment!!! They turned out really cute and I'm already picking out fabrics for the next pair (or two)!

Dieting...the fabric kind...

I have decided to put myself on a "fabric diet". I have recently pulled fabric out of all the closets I shove it in so I can organize it. I have so much that I forgot about. I started looking at it and realized how long it will probably take me to actually use it all... No more fabric buying for me until I cut this amount of fabric in half (at least). I want all my fabric to fit in the wardrobe that held it a few years ago in it's entirety. I don't want to be a wasteful person and having this much fabric and barely using it just feels wasteful to me. I'm not in the mood to sew things to sell, I'm not even considering selling my precious fabric, so all that is left is to use it!!

As soon as this weather warms up I'll be able to take pictures of six new dresses I've made for my little Miss. Who knows, maybe I'll get in a sewing mood again and make too many things for her to wear and put some extras up for sale... :)

Easiest skirt ever. I love buying pre-ruffled fabric. :) I bought a few yards of this to play with, but I wanted to whip up a quick skirt first to see how it sews up. I think it's a bit long, but she loves it. A layer or two may be cut off when the weather warms up. I think I may try a pair of pants with this fabric next.

Such a good little model posing for me in the snow and cold. :)

Farbenmix Laura pattern. I like the way it sewed up, but I need to make the head opening a bit wider as it is difficult to get on and off as it is now. Rainbow skirt that she's wanted me to make her for a long time. She loves the outfit! She had a few too many distractions to pose well for me, I may try to get some better pics to share the next time she wears it.

She did her own hair. :)

It had been years since I had sewn clothing or used a pattern, but I wanted to sew a dress for my baby girl. It turned out huge!!! I was so disappointed, but that didn't stop me from trying again, and again, and again...

Here she is over a year later when the dress actually fit her. Five minutes after taking this picture, we went inside and she took a pair of scissors and cut a big hole in the front of the dress... :(

I started sewing for my daughter because 1. I had a hard time finding dresses that I liked and 2. I got tired of going places and seeing other kids with the exact same outfit my daughter was wearing, or had at home in her closet. I love, love, love creating outfits for her to wear and she loves helping me pick out the fabric and patterns for her new outfits!

I bought 1 yard of this flannel last year. I decided it was time to sew it up, so I cut her out the pants and showed her what I was making. She was quite upset that I wasn't making her a top to go with it, too. So, I did my first applique. As I guessed, I do not have the patience for applique work. But, it looks just fine for sleeping in. :)

I traced and cut this pattern almost immediately after receiving it, but that was all. It sat and sat and I decided today that it needed to be sewn up if she was going to be able to wear it at all. Now that it's finished, I don't really care for it much and I doubt I'll make any more. Not sure why I don't like it much, I just don't.

Lindsey has had these tights for over a year, but she never had anything really cute that they matched. So...I made her something. Brown interlock Olivia with butterfly embroidery. She was so excited when the butterfly was stitching out. She kept saying, "It's so beautiful!"

My son had to invent something for his science project. He came up with plans for a locker organizer and I sewed it up for him. Chalkboard, picture slot, chalk, pens & pencils slots and a pocket for notebooks. He's pretty happy with the way it turned out...let's hope it gets him an "A."

Here are some of the things I sewed for Christmas gifts this year. The only thing on my list I didn't get around to making was the doll clothes. I did 2 tote bags, 4 pillows, 4 scarves, 4 pair of pj pants, 1 book, 1 apron, 2 shirts, 2 shopping bags and 1 chalkboard mat. I wanted to do a few more things, but I just ran out of time.

Did matching raglans for the twins.

Cowboy apron as a joke gift. It was well received with many laughs.

This tote bag turned out really cute. It was for my nephew and filled with crayons, coloring books and a chalkboard mat.

Scarf and pillow. :) Evidently perfect enough for a Christmas nap.

Little Miss was in desperate need of some pants that didn't look like capri's after her latest growth spurt. I used a new pattern for these pants and skirt. Will definitely use again. This time I got smart and made them with plenty of growing room. She helped pick out the fabrics.

I made this shirt for her months ago. It was per her request...a red shirt with number buttons. The pants were made around the same time, but I left them with no elastic and no hem for way too long. I decided to finish them up today and realized that if I put a hem in the bottom, she wouldn't be wearing them for very long. So, I decided to sew some Hello Kitty ribbon at the bottom ♥.

It's huge on her! She's a 4T and I made a size 2. I didn't even add the ruffle to the bottom and chopped off a few inches...didn't do any good. I really wish US pattern companies would get their sizings right. I really like the pattern, but will have to put it away for a couple years... :(
